How We Choose Products
Every buying guide on TC Golf Center starts with one question: which golfer is this for? A driver that suits a 105 mph swing can be the wrong club for a senior at 80 mph. We build each list around the golfer in the title, then pick the products that fit that player best.
What we research
- Design and specs. Loft, lie, head size, weighting, shaft options, adjustability, and available hand, length, and flex options.
- Who it is built for. Manufacturer positioning, such as game improvement or players' clubs, checked against the specs.
- Performance data. Published launch monitor data and independent testing where it exists.
- Owner feedback. Patterns across many buyer reviews, especially recurring complaints about durability, sizing, or quality control.
- Price and availability. Whether the product is still sold new, and whether it is fair value for what it does.
Where hands-on use fits in
Some picks reflect clubs our team has hit or owned. Most are chosen through the research above. We don't claim to have tested a product we haven't used, and we don't publish made-up test results.
Older models
Budget and value guides often include previous-generation clubs on purpose. Last year's model usually performs close to the new one at a much lower price.
What we never do
- Accept payment to include or rank a product.
- Let affiliate commission rates decide a ranking.
- Invent quotes, reviews, or test numbers.
Keeping guides current
Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We revisit guides when new models launch or a product is discontinued. If a pick is out of stock or out of date, let us know.
